ancient curses, Grimlocks, and Wendigos (the last two are best
left explained by their respective episodes), however, are
only half the battle on this sexy dramedy, in which more
ordinary matters of emotional and real-world survival also
preoccupy the Halliwells. An important ally, Inspector Andy
Trudeau (Ted King), is Prue's ex-lover, a delicate detail that
mixes pain with duty as the couple rekindles their troubled
relationship while solving otherworldly crimes. In "Dead Man
Dating," Piper falls for the ghost of a murdered man who needs
help, and later competes with Phoebe for the attention of a
handyman, Leo (Brian Krause). Jobs and money are always an
issue, too. At one time or another, Phoebe works as a psychic,
Piper as a caterer, and Prue finds a job at an auction house.
As with Buffy, the engine of Charmed is the
seamless, sometimes-comic, sometimes-tender way in which all
these dynamics in the magic and non-magic worlds blend
together, presenting young adult challenges that are both
unique and somehow terribly familiar. It is particularly fun
to watch this series grow, deepen, and experiment during its
first year. The season's true highlight is probably "That 70s
Episode," in which the Halliwells go back in time to meet

The longest-running Marvel series in history on DVD in this
spectacular four-disc set,
featuring all 26 episodes of the heralded 1990's animated series.
All DVDs are in perfect, as-new condition!
Marvel Comics'
Fantastic Four animated series (1994-95)--depicting the first
family of superheroes--got significantly better as it went
along. The series always had good intentions, borrowing plots,
concepts, characters, and even lines of dialogue from the
classic Stan Lee-Jack Kirby comic books that kicked off the
Marvel age of comics. And it was willing to spend two or even
three episodes on a single story line. The early episodes,
however, had serious drawbacks, such as a clumsy animation
style (the Silver Surfer never looked less noble), weak humor
(the origin episode created a framing sequence in which the FF
appears on the Dick Cavett Show), and an awful theme song by
Giorgio Moroder (Flashdance, Top Gun). Fortunately, the
animation improved in the second season, and instrumental
theme music replaced the song. Memorable moments from the
series include the monumental Frightful Four-Inhumans tie-in
and Galactus's search for a new herald. Memorable characters
include villains Doctor Doom, the Skrulls, the Mole Man, and
the Puppet Master, and heroes Daredevil, the Black Panther,
Thor, and the Hulk. Guest voices include Ron Perlman, Michael
Dorn, Kathy Ireland, Mark Hamill, and John Rhys-Davies. It's
worth a look for FF fans, especially in the complete four-disc
set that contains all 29 episodes, a welcome change from
Disney's single-disc compilations of the Spider-Man
series from the same time period. (Ages 8 and older: cartoon
action, threatening situations, some mature concepts)

Movie description
Inspired by the success of Fox's teen soap THE O.C., the
producers at MTV came up with this reality series about
the real-life residents of Orange County, California.
Like the characters in THE O.C, the teens of LAGUNA
BEACH, THE REAL ORANGE COUNTY drive fancy cars and spend
a great deal of their time shopping for expensive
clothes. They also fret about their love lives, or lack
thereof, while sunning by pools and cruising the
California strip. The drama of LAGUNA BEACH is not as
narrative as that of THE O.C., but there is plenty of
it, from catfights to boy drama to who's going with whom
to the prom. While the half-hour series follows the
lives of six different teenagers in their last year
before leaving Laguna for college, viewers will find a
semi-protagonist in Lauren. An aspiring fashion
designer, Lauren agonizes over her relationship with
Stephen, who constantly switches his attention between
Lauren, and her ultimate nemesis, a junior named
Kristin. While the two girls supposedly can't stand each
other, shared social circles bring them together time
and time again, causing loyalties to be tested, and
drama to reach a breaking point.

Movie description
When this popular night-time soap debuted in 2003, Lucas (Chad
Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty) were sworn
enemies on and off the basketball court. The reason for this
tension revealed itself as the boys turned out to be half
brothers. This bitter secret proved to be just one of many
that would shape the drama of Tree Hill, the town where Lucas,
Nathan, their families, and peers all reside. Parental
conflict and steamy romantic triangles create much of the
show's tension, with the character of Dan Scott (Nathan and
Lucas's father) developing into one of television's most
sinister villains. Over the course of the show's first and
second seasons, characters get married and almost divorced,
engage in illicit affairs, trade lovers, deceive and protect
one another, and try on drug addictions. Most of the first
season is spent untangling a vicious web of secrets and lies
that has been weaving its way through Tree Hill for years. But
as any good drama requires a little intrigue, the subsequent
season proves that there are plenty more hidden truths to
uncover. Season Two further develops the string of major
characters while adding several fresh faces to the mix. With
the opening of music club "Trick" in season two, ONE TREE HILL
gains a venue with which to spotlight the musical talents of
not only Haley (one of the show's major characters), but also
those of real-life artists such as The Wreckers, Tyler Hilton
(who plays the character Chris), and Jimmy Eat World.

political intrigue crossed with personal triumph or

betrayals, Dallas is a captivating story of a wealthy oil
family's power and travails. It is also uniquely fun and daringly
absurd, albeit with a straight face; this hugely successful,
primetime soap opera began in the late 1970s and ran 14 seasons in
all, built on a handful of primary relationships that stretch
credulity but never descend into self-parody.
Dallas: The Complete Third Season, originally broadcast in the
fall of 1979 through early 1980, surely represents one of the most
raucous and tantalizing years in the life of any television series
in history. Murder, banking fraud, kidnapping, adultery,
alcoholism, cancer, vengeance, a miscarriage, extortion, bribery,
