vintage BUICK ROCKWELL MADE PARKING METER, it stands about 5 feet tall, steel construction, I really don't know what the origins of this are, maybe it came from an old Buick dealership, on the bottom base it says what looks like "Captain's Buick", some of the letterings is faded, on the front of the meter it says "Buick Parking Only", inside the window there is a little flag thing that says "Class of '71", I think the meter is older than that though and possibly from the 50's or 60's, the coin compartment has a lock but no key, the top section where the meter mechanism is also has a lock and no key but it opens with a screwdriver inserted in, the meter has a wind up shaft on the back but no winder, I used a pliers to wind it and the meter started ticking away, upon putting a coin in the meter sometimes seems to work and sometimes seems not to, it may need some adjustment or repair, the housing, pole and base all have paint wear and some minor rust spots, the base unscrews from the pole, the Class of '71 flag could be painted over or removed if you didn't want it, oddball piece from the good old days, $85. Complete engine removed from Mercury Grand Marquis.. This is a fuel Injected motor with Throttle Body Injection but can easily be converted to carureted type.
The car was in a side collision but the motor was not affected.. This engine ran smooth and quiet.. Stored inside . I was saving for a project that never happened. These are getting hard to find.
