Framed hand cast paper cactus flower artwork. Hand cast paper is an art form which balanced the qualities of dimension, texture, color and design to create hand-crafted artworks with the appeal of sculpture and look of today. They are made first mixing 100% cotton fibers with filtered water to return them to pulp. Next, handfuls of the pulp are placed in a mold and worked by hand, weaving and interlocking the fibers to create a strong bond. The water is then removed and the pulp takes shape of the mold. The newly created art is carefully inspected, allowed time to air-dry then air brushed with paint to create the wanted colors. Last comes the pencil signature before framing. Theses 2 pieces were handsigned by artist- Carlos for Figi Graphics in 1988 and 1989.
