For your consideration is this Antique Joseph Whiting Stock Giclée of Mary Jane Smith Framed in Wood - This framed print of a little girl holding a doll is called Mary Jane Smith by Joseph Whiting Stock who was born in 1815 in Springfield, Massachusetts. He became paralyzed in 1826 due to an oxcart accident. On the advice of a physician, he begin to study art. His earlier works were anatomical drawings which you can see a hint of in the shoulders of the girl in this pictures. When Stock painted Mary Jane Smith in 1838, she was 2 years old and the painting was life sized. This picture is a glicee of the original famous painting at the Smithsonian Institute.
