It was imported and distributed by N.S. Meyer, New York. The etching style reflects 1950s era and it is custom etched for Culver Military Academy, Culver, Indiana. It is approx. two-thirds acid etched with a patriotic theme. The name “CULVER” is etched on one side. The maker is marked on the ricasso: “N.S. MEYER INC./DEFENDER TRADEMARK/WEST GERMANY”. Condition of sword is excellent and scabbard is very good with expected wear from age. Overall condition as seen in photos. Name and year of officer and "B Battery" are also etched inside rectangular section near guard. The scabbard shows a fine patina with light air pitting consistent with age. Sword measures 36" and scabbard 31". Blade is 32 inches in length.
