We have an exciting opportunity to join a growing manufacturing company. The Grinder I will be responsible for setting up and operating one or more centerless grinding machines to grind the outer diameters of precision metal and plastic components and bar materials to customer and internal specifications.

This position is considered entry level, however the ideal candidate is someone who would like to learn the trade and grow professionally along with the company. For the right individual this position could lead to a supervisory role or a higher level operator doing more complex work.
If you are only looking to punch a clock and do the bare minimum for 8 hours, this is not the job for you.
Responsibilities/Duties :
• Reading paperwork and following written and verbal instructions
• Operating one or more grinding machines, saws, or support equipment
• Moving materials through the shop ; handling and packaging parts and materials carefully to prevent damage
• Keeping your work station clean and organized
• Assisting more experienced operators with feeding and staging parts and tooling
• Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need to Be Successful :
• Good basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
• High standards for workmanship, attention to detail, dedication to quality, service, safety
• The ability to think before acting
• Good eyesight, corrected or otherwise
• Most importantly you should enjoy coming to work, to be part of a team doing important work, and getting stuff done right
• Good dexterity
• Focused and serious demeanor
• Be able to handle the Florida summer ( fans are throughout the shop ), shop will eventually be air conditioned, building renovations are ongoing
What The Position Will Look Like Day to Day :
• Grinding precision parts and bars in a timely manner according to historical records
• Proactively perform visual inspections to identify problems when they arise
• Report problems and issues to supervisor immediately
• Complete paperwork accurately ; should have legible handwriting
• Clean and organize areas of shop as requested
• Learn our systems and processes to be able to assist with more and more as time goes by to advance yourself and the company at the same time by giving input, coming up with solutions, and taking on more responsibility
• Staying Focused and attentive even when doing repetitive, fast paced work
• On your feet most of the day
• Occasional mandatory overtime ( Staying late, Saturdays... )
The hours for this position are : 8:30AM - 5:00PM EST M - F
